TheOrivana began with a simple frustration: everywhere we looked for beautiful lighting and home accents, we found two extremes. Mass-produced pieces that felt disposable, or designer originals priced for showrooms, not living rooms.
We wanted something else — objects with presence. Pieces you’d notice in a friend’s home and ask about. So we started doing what we still do today: travelling through small workshops and design studios, sitting with makers who care more about a clean silhouette than a quick turnaround, and bringing back only the pieces that earned a place in our own homes first.
The name says it plainly. Orivana — from aura, the light a space gives off, and vana, an old root for home, dwelling, sanctuary. TheOrivana is that light: the warm half-second when a room stops being furniture and starts being yours.
We’re not trying to be everything. No fast-fashion homeware, no trend-of-the-week clutter. Just a tightly curated edit of lighting, textiles, and sculptural pieces we’d happily put in our own hallway — chosen for how they feel at 7pm with the lamps on, not how they photograph at 9am in a catalogue.
Every product on this site has been picked, not just listed. If it doesn’t hold up to that, it doesn’t make the cut.
This is still early days for us — a small, independent operation, built one considered piece at a time. We’re growing slowly, on purpose, because the alternative is the very clutter we started this to avoid.
